Golda Meir died in Jerusalem on December 8, 1978. She became the first female prime minister of Israel. Meir was the daughter of a carpenter from Kyiv, and became the head of government. She was intransigent, even fanatical and at the same time very humane, old-fashionedly kind and attentive, diletant.ru reports. Well-versed in armament matters, Meir bought weapons and planted trees in the desert. Creating and protecting a small country for her people, she changed many things in the world for the better. She became a legend of the 20th century. Her name was Golda Meir. Golda means “golden,” whileMeir translates as “shining.”
