John KERRY: “Ukrainian society has chosen the West”

While meeting German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, US Secretary of State John Kerry said that Ukraine had been “a bridge between Europe and Russia for the past 23 years, but that did not work.

Due to the Euromaidan’s victory, the Ukrainian public has chosen a different model of governance, that of the democratic West, as opposed to Russia’s power vertical,” Kerry said during a joint press conference in Berlin.
