A Luhansk hospital explodes

Last morning an explosion occurred in the Luhansk City Hospital no. 7. It is assumed that the oxygen cylinders went out, which caused the blast. Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who came to the place of incident on the same day, stated that it happened because of carelessness and lack of professionalism. A total of 261 people and 350 medics were staying in the building at time of explosion. The blast killed three people. The rescue crew is helping the injured out from under the debris. Four people had been rescued before this issue of The Day went to print. According to the Minister of Extraordinary Situations Volodymyr Shandra, who heads the special commission created on the spot to investigate into the causes of explosion, there can be seven more people staying under the debris. All the patients were evacuated from the hospital. According to Tymoshenko, the session of the Cabinet of Ministers has passed a decision on allotment of 20 million hryvnias to liquidate the consequences of the incident and rescue the injured people.
