The Leo City, as every year at this time, is holding the Golden Lion International Theater Festival. As its constant director Yaroslav Fedoryshyn told The Day, this year the Lviv citizens and guests will be invited to street performances performed by theater troupes from Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia, and, of course, Ukraine.
The festival will traditionally start with a bright carnival procession.
Then the program includes the following performances: Artists by the Prague theater Brothers in trick, The Giants’ Show by the Yevpatorian theater, Sea variations by the Odesa theater Carnival, High Dreams by the Prague theater VOSA, The Book by Warsaw theater Makata, Gloria by the Lviv Theater Resurrection, and also shows by the Lviv circus studio and street theater from St. Petersburg. The festival will start on September 30 and finish on October 2. The happening will take place on the square and the alley in front of the Opera House and on the Market Square near the City Hall. The Theater of Living Sculptures will be working in the city center during the three days of the festival. The Golden Lion will conclude with a fire show with participation of Lviv and Polish actors and a performance of the Warsaw orchestra of large tambourines.
