University Press “Pulsary” with the assistance of the Ukrainian Small Academy of Sciences has recently published a unique book. The book called My Path is the French translation of the most iconic poems by Andrii Malyshko that were set to music by Maiboroda brothers and Oleksandr Bilash.
The poems were translated into French by Dmytro Chystiak, winner of Hryhorii Skovoroda Prize of the French Embassy to Ukraine. The book includes such well-known song gems like “Dear Mother,” “Kyiv Waltz,” “My Path,” “Fall Quiet Evening in Bloom,” “Song About a Teacher,” “White Chestnuts,” and others.
Publication of the book “My Path” was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the poet’s birth. The presentation of the book was held within the framework of the exhibition of scientific research and art works “Talent and Intelligence” in the Cultural and Information Center of the Ukrainian Embassy to France (Paris) in October.
Chystiak also presented French translations of Pavlo Tychyna’s writing, which he made in collaboration with other translators, his own poetry collection Nadsadny Sad (Hacking Garden), and also numerous translations from the future anthology of Ukrainian poetry.
