Ostap Stupka’s fairy tales

The best remedy for depression is care for children, yours and somebody else’s
10 February, 2009 - 00:00

The Kyiv-based Ye bookstore has hosted an informal meeting between children and Ostap Stupka, a well-known actor at the Ivan Franko Theater, a TV show presenter, and a brand-new People’s Artist of Ukraine. The children were over the moon. Firstly, they heard Ukrainian fairy tales read out by a superb reciter and the father of three children (Dmytro, Ustia, and Bohdan). Secondly, all those who wished could receive an autograph from Stupka himself. Thirdly, the little Kyivans had personal interaction with a popular master of the stage, cinema, and television screen and, moreover, displayed their own talents, reciting poems and singing songs. This event was part of the Fairy Tale Readings for Children project aimed at encouraging children to read books because a TV set, a computer, and the Internet cannot replace the joy that a good book can provide.
