“The People’s Flea Market”

Lviv designers and artists will sell their works to raise money for the wounded
1 October, 2014 - 17:44

“Do Not Be Indifferent!” is the motto of charity event called the “People’s Flea Market,” to be held in Lviv’s Rynok Square on October 11-12. The organizers will donate all the proceeds to the persons wounded during the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine, who are now undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.

Over two days, the flea market will offer exclusive merchandise, including apparel from famous designers and fashion boutiques, paintings by famous artists, and personal belongings of show business stars... Designers Oksana Karavanska, Natalia Kamenska and Olesia Kononova, Marta Vakhkholts, Maria and Ruslan Kostelny, Roksolana Bohutska, Mila Kvitka and Jamilia have all offered their works for the event... It is also supported by artists Olena Onufriv, Ivanka and Oleksandr Voitovych and Volodymyr Sydorenko. The singers who have donated their belongings for the good cause include Pavlo Tabakov and Natalia Karpa, while author Irena Karpa will take part in the fundraiser as well. New members join the “People’s Flea Market” daily.

“No one has refused me,” the event’s organizer, editor-in-chief of the BOOM plus TV magazine Emilia Khuda told us. “It is so because there is probably no person here who has remained aloof from the current events in Ukraine. Each of us has somehow joined the effort to help the army. We have done a lot, but more is needed. The wounded are coming home from the east of the country. We are holding this event precisely to help them. I hope that Leopolitans and guests of the city will join our initiative, and we will together help those who are now at hospitals and probably need our help most.”
