The website covering Sevastopol’s Ukrainian-language poetry has been presented in the city. The event was timed to coincide with the coming anniversary of the web portal “Ukrainian Life in Sevastopol.” Its founder Mykola Vladzimirsky relates: “Sevastopol’s Poetical Worlds is part of our portal, which was launched 13 years ago on March 29, so I celebrated this company holiday of sorts by creating this site for Sevastopol poets.” The site is designed as a universe where every poet is a separate planet. “We have 10 planets on the site currently, these are for the poets who have already made their mark and reached a certain level of poetic mastery, while the young poets who study at schools and universities have their works posted in the site’s First Steps in Literature section.” Let us recall that the “Ukrainian Life in Sevastopol” is a Ukrainian-language portal that brings together two dozen different sites covering cultural, educational and civic topics, and aims to unite the ethnic Ukrainian residents of Sevastopol around their culture, history and traditions. Meanwhile, the Poetical Worlds site aims to promote the Ukrainian-language works of experienced poets and beginners alike. Vladzimirsky is grateful to continuing education instructor at the Sevastopol Municipal Humanitarian University Valentyna Lopatiuk and chair of the institution’s Ukrainian philology department Olena Popova for identifying creative individuals among university and school students. He is sure that creative youths’ numbers will grow stronger from year to year. Sevastopol’s Poetical Worlds can be found at poetry.ukrlife.org.
