One of these days the assembly of the second stage of a solar power station will be completed in Chechelnyk, a raion center in the south of Vinnytsia oblast. The total area of the facility is 32 hectare, the station will have the capacity of 16 MW. The power plant will annually produce almost 22 million KW, allowing to reduce carbon dioxide emission by 22,000 ton per year.
“This project was long overdue for our raion. The idea of constructing a solar power plant of this scale has been around for the past five years, but due to various circumstances the project was put on the back burner. Thus what we see here today inspires great optimism. First of all, it means progress, and secondly, we see a rise of investment activity in the region in general, and in Chechelnyk raion in particular,” remarked Valerii KOROVII, head of the Vinnytsia Oblast State Administration. “It is crucial that this is an innovative project, and its efficiency is largely due to the stabilization of the financial situation in Ukraine, so that it is possible to take a loan, invest, and receive a corresponding effect.”
The facility is being constructed by Podilsky Energoconsulting LLC. The owners plan to complete the project by the end of this year.
We would like to remind our readers that there already are 19 functional solar power plants in Vinnytsia oblast.
