ZAPORIZHIA – The scientists and manufacturers from Zaporizhia and Kyiv managed to cut down the expenses and simultaneously improve the quality of steel.
One can speak a lot about the domestic manufacturers, however, when the domestic customers do not value their produce it will end in talk. By the way, the market dictates not only prices which is extremely important today. Vadym Ivoditov, director general of the LLC “DSS Global Trading” which is the main distributor of private JSC “Dniprospetsstal” (a bulk buyer that sells metals to the direct consumers in smaller amounts) says:
“The clients mainly assess all the metal suppliers using two criteria: product quality and service. We asked the Frunze SPA of Sumy, the Antonov Government Enterprise and the Belarusian BelAZ to assess the produce of Dniprospetsstal using these two criteria. All of them unanimously appreciated both high-standard service and product quality that fulfills all the international standards. It is clear that the enterprise could not have reached this result without implementing the brand new scientific and technical developments.” The manufacturers have to update not only to be able to meet clients’ quality and service requirements. Here is the opinion of MP, chairman of the board of the open JSC “Motor Sich,” Hero of Ukraine Viacheslav BOHUSLAIEV:
“One of the biggest problems of the Ukrainian economy is the absence of the base of raw materials and minerals sufficient for high-melting ligation elements production such as molybdenum, cobalt, vanadium, tungsten, nickel and others. That is why the studies of reduction of ore concentrates metal oxide compounds are enormously important since their results immediately and positively influence the production. This influence displays in using much fewer expensive imported elements first of all because of a deeper use of such elements when melting special steels for propulsion engineering.”
It is high time now to briefly present the sense of this development. For example, a new brand of heat-resistant steel has been created for the reactors of magnesium-thermal reduction of titanium. Though its name is quite complicated for an average reader, this steel allowed increasing the service life of the reactors equipment by 1.5-2 times. The ingots of the abovementioned steel are supposed to be melted at Dniprospetsstal.
Thereupon it would be interesting to find out the opinion of president of the Association “Aircraft Propulsion Engineering Union,” professor, and winner of the National Prize of Ukraine Viktor CHUIKO:
“The research called Development and Implementation of Alternative Technologies in Special Steels Production undoubtedly deserves the National Prize of Ukraine in science and engineering.”
We will add that this brand new development is nominated for the National Prize of Ukraine by “The Zaporizhia Academician Ivchenko Design-Engineering Office ‘Progress’.” It has been realized with the participation of Progress and the private JSC “Dniprospetsstal” workers, in particular, assistant technical director, Ph.D. in techniques Oleksandr Liuty and the deputy chairman of the board, technical director Oleksandr Panchenko.
