Where there is no law, but every man does what is right in his own eyes, there is the least of real liberty

For townspeople’s and tourists’ benefit

Uzhhorod now has a cyclist’s map of the city
7 October, 2014 - 11:20

It was installed in the city’s famous Batia Arcade. The arcade itself was restored for the City Day, with benches and vases set up there and a wall decorated with a patriotic drawing which shows a bicycle-borne Carpathian bear.

The map was developed by the city’s prominent cyclists, to supplement two other tourist maps installed in the arcade. “We aimed to develop the first ever funny and interesting cyclist’s map of the regional center. We did it for townspeople and tourists who arrive to Uzhhorod by bicycle. The map shows important places for those traveling by two-wheeler, like locations of bike racks, cyclist-friendly hotels and eateries, bicycle repair shops and so on,” organizer of the Night Ride cycling races Vitalia Munchak told The Day.

By the way, the city will host the “Cycling-Jam” event as soon as October 3, which will combine a cycling race with a tasting of the Zakarpattian lekvar (a kind of  thick jam) to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the first night race, the 1,121st anniversary of Uzhhorod and the 15th anniversary of the Path to Life Medical and Social Rehabilitation Center.
