During the state visit of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to Kuwait, a number of bilateral documents were signed, including the Agreement on Cooperation in the Military and Other Spheres. Also, the parties have reached understandings on mutual exchange of intelligence, cooperation between defense industrial complexes, supply of armaments, military equipment, etc., according to the Presidential Administration’s report. “I believe this is a new page in the relations between Ukraine and Kuwait,” the head of state said. The president met with Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and expressed his gratitude for the emirate’s consistent support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. “We feel very strong and powerful support coming from Kuwait in international organizations,” Poroshenko said, adding that the Arab country supported the initiative to launch a peacekeeping mission in the Donbas. In addition, the head of state met with a number of officials, as well as with managing director of the Kuwaiti Investment Authority Farouk Ali Bastaki and the leadership of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, with whom he discussed ways to intensify financial and investment cooperation between the two countries. On March 19-20, the president is making an official visit to the State of Qatar.
