The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine named world champion in modern pentathlon Pavlo Tymoshenko the best athlete of July. Accordingly, his father and personal coach Yurii Tymoshenko became the best coach of the month.

Let us recall that Ukraine’s leading pentathlete performed brilliantly at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany, becoming the first Ukrainian world champion in modern men’s pentathlon since independence.

This result, which was the most significant achievement in individual Olympic sports for any Ukrainian athlete during the past month, means that Tymoshenko has secured a coveted place at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Let us note that this success got Tymoshenko his first award ever from the NOC of Ukraine.
