The Miss Universe-2011 pageant has come to a close in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo. Leila Lopes from Angola took the first place and received the diadem made of white gold and decorated with precious stones. On her way to the victory Lopes outstripped 88 competitors. The 22-year-old Ukrainian Olesia Stefanko and the Brazilian Priscila Machado took the second and the third places respectively.
It would be recalled that every year the Ukrainian beauties get closer and closer to the desired diadem and the Miss Universe title. Last year Anna Poplavska was the 3rd runner-up and this year Olesia Stefanko is the 1st runner-up.
Stefanko was born and spent her childhood in the town of Kolomyia. Now she successfully studies at the Odesa Law Academy and is going to graduate from it with distinction. In future she wants to do science and tells that she has never considered herself to be especially beautiful and even was shy and indecisive at school.
The Miss Universe-2011 finalists competed for the title within the traditional swimsuits and evening gowns parades. Besides, the girls answered various questions by the jury demonstrating their sharpness, erudition, the ability to formulate their ideas and outline their life position. When answering the question about the historical figure she would like to take the place of, Stefanko chose Cleopatra. In her opinion, Cleopatra is an example of a strong and wise woman, a leader. So, every woman can become a leader and be successful.
During a year the Miss Universe and the three runners-up will participate in various advertising campaigns and charity and cultural events.
