Viktor Yushchenko: The President Could Not Have Contracted a Murder

20 March, 2001 - 00:00

Premier Viktor Yushchenko thinks it will be impossible to find answers to many questions in Ukraine unless the case of journalist Heorhy Gongadze is cleared up, Interfax-Ukraine reports. The premier is convinced that President Leonid Kuchma could not have contracted the murder of a human being. Mr. Yushchenko reiterated that the president has expressed readiness to swear on the Bible that he had never issued any order to kill journalist Gongadze. The premier said he, as a Christian, understood these words very well. He also believes the Gongadze case should be investigated without undue haste and emotion.
