September 6, 1672. Hetman Petro Doroshenko took Kamyanets-Podilsky.

1994. Ukraine and China signed a treaty on cooperation in navigation, mail, and e-mail services.

September 7, 1989. The organizing meeting of the People’s Movement of Ukraine (Rukh) was held.

1994. An attempt at a constitutional upheaval was made in Crimea. By a decision of the Parliament of Crimea a parliamentary republic was de facto implemented.

September 8, 1619. Two Ukrainian intermedies by Yakub Havatovych were premiered at the Strumylov’s Theater in Kamyanets.

1944. The East-Carpathian attacking operation of the Soviet forces was started.

September 9, 1913. Petro Nesterov, a Kyiv-based military pilot, first in the world accomplished a loop-the-loop on his Newport plane.

1961. The Ukrainian Icae Ballet Ensemble made its first appearance in Kyiv.

September 10, 1919. At the Paris Peace Conference between the Entente and Austria a treaty was signed fixing the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and acknowledging Romania’s claims to Bukovyna and Czechoslovakia’s to Transcarpathia.

1988. The Golden Duke All-Union Festival of Popular Films started in Odesa.

September 11, 1943. The Hryhory Veriovka State Meritorious Academy Ukrainian Folk Choir was founded.

1996. The first issue of the all-Ukrainian newspaper, Den, was published.

September 12, 1996. Ukraine and the European Union signed an indicative program for 1996-1999, envisaging, in part, granting Ukraine aids of 700 million dolllars.

1996. The Youth Aerospace Education Center was inaugurated in Dnipropetrovsk.
