September 20, 1919. The UNR Army and Nestor Makhno’s anarchist forces made a treaty on their united fight against Anton Denikin’s Volunteer Army.
1975. The Kuban, the largest Soviet tanker with a tonnage over 180,000 tons was launched in Kerch.
September 21, 1943. The Soviet army liberated Chernihiv from the Nazi Germans.
1993. Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine accepted Leonid Kuchma’s resignation and released him of the duties of the Ukrainian Prime Minister.
September 22, 1935. The Botanical Garden (now the Central Botanical Garden of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences) was founded in Kyiv.
1943. The Donbas offensive operation of the Western and Southern fronts’ troops was completed, and the Germans were completely pushed out of the Donbas.
September 23, 1919. At joint meeting of the Ukrainian National Republic (UNR) and the West Ukrainian National Republic (ZUNR) decided on military operations against Denikin’s Volunteer Army.
1989. The first issue of Slovo was published by the Shevchenko Ukrainian Language Society (now Prosvita) in Kyiv.
September 24, 1992. The Kyiv-Mohyla Academy University was founded in Kyiv.
1993. The Ukrainian Ministry of Justice registered the Organization of the Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN).
