Tournament in Rhythmic Gymnastics “Deriuhina Cup – Naftohaz 2012” (in the rank of the World Cup) devoted to the anniversary of the Ukraine’s Hero, “mother of rhythmic gymnastics,” and the head coach of the national team Albina Deriuhina will take place in Kyiv Sports Palace from March 16 through 18. This tournament will also be a major rehearsal for World Cup 2013 in Gymnastics that will be held in Ukraine for the first time in the history of sports from September 13 through 23.
The organizers of the event told The Day that not only athletes will come to the World Cup 2012 but also artists, politicians, as well as visitors from around the world to watch the tournament and congratulate Deriuhina.
Ukraine’s national team has gymnasts medallist of the last World Cup of 2011 (Montpellier, France) and of the European Championship 2011 (Minsk, Belarus) Alina Maksymenko and Hanna Rizatdinova. Viktoria Mazur and Viktoria Shynkarenko will perform in the non-competition program. At the present moment gymnasts from 44 countries have confirmed their participation.
There will be many surprises at the World Cup 2012. It is already known that Hanna Bezsonova (in the photo) will present Deriuhina with a gift. The chief director of Ukraine’s National Team in Rhythmic Gymnastics, master of sports, as well as musician and singer Iryna Blokhina is also preparing a present. She will present the new Olympic program that will be performed by Ukrainian gymnasts at the Olympics in London, new gymnastic shows of the Ukrainian National Team, and will also present Deriuhina with a music gift, which she will present at the opening ceremony of the tournament.
