PRESIDENTIAL DECREE ALLOWS ANTIMONOPOLY COMMITTEE LOCAL BRANCHES TO LEVY HIGHER PENALTIES

31 March, 1998 - 00:00

On March 26, President Kuchma signed changes to the antimonopoly law. From now on, local branches and authorized representatives of the Antimonopoly Committee can impose fines for breaking the antimonopoly laws of up to 1,000 untaxed minimum incomes, or UAH 17,000.

The changes were enacted by Parliament on March 3. Earlier, fines over 400 untaxed minimum incomes could be imposed only by Ukraine’s national Antimonopoly Committee.
