The January 30 concert at the Master Class House of Education and Culture will conclude the festival cycle dedicated to the works of the famous contemporary Ukrainian composer. The works of the maestro will be performed by the Kyivska Kamerata National Ensemble of Soloists, with Valerii Matiukhin as artistic director and chief conductor and soloists Inna Halatenko (soprano) and Dmytro Tavanets (piano).

“Sylvestrov’s music is only seemingly simple. This is conceptual simplicity where slightest touches and shades, tiniest accents are of great importance,” singer Halatenko stressed. “This tense silence of sound is the very essence of the maestro’s avant-garde style. His works include many metaphorical passages, fine references to bygone eras and styles of times past...”

The program will include: Four Postludes for Strings and Piano (revision of 2015); Seven Songs for Voice and Orchestra to Alexander Pushkin’s Lyrics (orchestral version by Oleksandr Levkovych and Valentyn Sylvestrov); Three Serenades for Piano and Strings (2015); Chamber Cantata No. 4 for Voice, Piano, and Strings in Two Parts; Moments of Poetry and Music for Voice and Piano: Paul Celan’s Poem; and Melody Postscript for the strings.
