The libraries of educational institutions in Kovel have received sets of Den’s Library books recently. There were many acknowledged and popular books, such as: Ukraine Incognita. TOP 25; Ukraine Incognita (the very first edition, which had started the Den’s Library collection); The Power of the Soft Sign, the album of caricatures by Anatolii Kazansky, Day and Eternity of James Mace (English version), Extract 150 (in two volumes), “Armor-Piercing Political Writing” and “Subversive Literature” series, and the Living History photo almanac. Thirteen sets have been purchased for the libraries so far, and three of them have already been presented: two for Kovel schools and one to the medical college. This intellectual gift for the locals was made by MP Stepan Ivakhiv.
Viktoria Kalenikova, Deputy Dean of Humanities and Upbringing of Kovel medical college, says: “We are grateful both to Stepan Ivakhiv and to Den for this intellectual support. Our college’s library is good, but we mostly have specialized, medical literature here. And it is a kind of complicated now to buy books that can literally open the world to many generations of students and teach them how to think on their own. And we are preparing doctors, whose profession is not limited to healing bodies. Medicine is always on the frontline of society, and that’s why our students should always be right-on. That’s why Den’s books might be cherished by our students even more than textbooks! These are the books one will have to read with his pencil ready, the books one will often come back to. I also want to commend the quality of the print; the books are so good-looking that they practically invite you to take them. And as you take them, you read them.”
