Civic activists, human rightы champions, and journalists gathered near the RF Embassy in Kyiv on Thursday to express their outrage by the repressions of the self-proclaimed power against the Crimean Tatars in the Crimea and to support the suppressed citizens of Ukraine whose homeland is temporarily occupied. The participants of the picket listed numerous facts of suppression, bans, threats, and crimes against the Crimean Tatars that have not been investigated. They wrote an appeal to Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov and among

other things noted, “We demand to stop repressions and discriminations against the Crimean Tatar people and Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars immediately. The rights of the Crimean Tatars as the native people of the Crimea must be kept. Measures should be taken to support and enrich the Crimean Tatar language and culture.”
