Petro Poroshenko assured the imprisoned pilot that he has been doing everything to have her released, and mentioned his conversation with Putin

President Petro Poroshenko spoke with the imprisoned Ukrainian pilot Nadia Savchenko by phone, reports the president’s website. The conversation included Nadia’s mother Maria and her sister Vira. The president assured that the whole country was proud of Nadia’s fortitude and expressed his full support of her resistance.
Poroshenko informed Savchenko of the measures taken for her release, and described the details of a telephone conversation with Russian President Putin. Petro Poroshenko, as well as Nadia’s mother and sister, pleaded Nadia to stop the hunger strike. Nadia agreed to suspend the strike temporarily. The president also said that he would be ready to send his plane to Russia in order to bring Savchenko back home.
