“Recently I had the feeling that I was dragged onto somebody’s funeral, where everyone is committed to pat me on the shoulder and express their condolences,” writes Natalia Kaplan, Oleh Sentsov’s sister on her Facebook page. “I do not know what this farce is for, but it does not matter. The important thing is this: the struggle goes on and the proceedings in Rostov-on-Don had wreaked havoc in our pockets.” Recently, North Caucasus Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced the director to 20 years in prison. He was found guilty of performing two terrorist attacks, as well as of creating and managing a terrorist group.

Financial assistance to Sentsov and his family can be donated to the following bank accounts:

In hryvnias: PrivatBank, card number 5168742319492173, recipient Koronenko M.O.

According to Natalia Kaplan, there is no separate account for Oleh’s children, because the director is listed as a terrorist by Rosfinmonitoring, which may decide to block the accounts of his relatives. “There is an account, on which flows the stipend by the Ukrainian government, but we decided to keep it for an unforeseen family contingency,” says the sister.

Letters, postcards, and telegrams can be sent to: 344082, Rostov-on-Don, PO Box 2710, Oleg Sentsov, 1976. A letter should preferably be recommended with a notice on delivery. “It is better to write in Russian, though letters in Ukrainian sometimes come through,” says Kaplan.

Oleh Sentsov’s book Short Stories is available in bookstores and online shops. T-shirts in support of the director are sold online at solidarityua.info. Those who want to organize the screening of Sentsov’s film      Gamer, should write to: [email protected].

“Diverse actions, pickets, flash mobs are very important and Oleh knows about them,” asserts Kaplan. Also, the director and his family are in need of a legal support. “There is still a lot of trials ahead of us: the Supreme Court, the ECtHR, the case against the FSB and the media,” says the director’s sister.
