“I am thrilled that our athletes will not only look great in Beijing. They will also be comfortable,” declared Serhii Bubka, the head of Ukraine’s National Olympic Committee, who greeted our Olympic athletes at the press center of Ukraine Palace during the launch of Team Ukraine’s new Olympic uniforms. The show was organized by the NOC with support from the Delta Sport Company, the official representative of the Nike Company in Ukraine.

“Today, the world of sports is more than just about competitions. Nowadays the quality of sports equipment and uniforms also play a crucial role,” Bubka said.

The designers consulted Ukrainian athletes, who know exactly what their Olympic uniforms should be like. They used high- quality fabric and state-of-the-art technology to produce a special cut featuring side seams moved to the spine, which help to regulate body heat.

According to Oleh Yemshanov, the director general of the Delta Sport Company, the revolutionary sports uniform maximizes comfort. The flexible elastic foam that was used in the fabrication of athletic footwear helps distribute the pressure stresses over a considerably larger area.

“Olympic athletes are the face of Ukraine’s sports, so they should have the best uniforms and the best equipment. Athletes should focus only on improving their physical condition and achieving success. So, we hope they demonstrate their character and will to win,” said Ukraine’s Minister of Family, Youth and Sports Affairs Yurii Pavlenko.

The Olympic uniform is worn during the awards ceremonies as well as training and competing. Every athlete of Ukraine’s National Olympic team will receive a new uniform, while athletes competing in certain types of sport will be given a package of special equipment.
