Kraina mrii u Lvovi, Dreamland in Lviv, is the name of a folk music fair that took place on Sunday, Aug. 26, at Lviv’s museum of folk architecture and daily life, Shevchenko Grove. Among the musicians and groups who entertained visitors -wearing embroidered Ukrainian shirts and blouses was a must — were Oleh Skrypka and Le Grand Orchestra, Ocheretiany kit, Burdon, Choboty z buhaia, Korali, Fanfare Orchestra, and Rodovid, to mention a few. Among the guest performers were folk groups from Lithuania and Poland.

Folk crafts were extensively represented, including blacksmiths, woodcarvers, wicker-weavers, embroiderers, weavers, and craftsmen skilled at making ancient musical instruments. Master craftsmen demonstrated how these inimitable creations of human intellect and imagination were born.

There was a children’s forest clearing, where little visitors could show off various skills, like molding clay, drawing, making appliques, learning folk dances and children’s songs, and playing various instruments.
