The Lviv Museum of Ukraine’s Liberation Struggle is hosting an exhibit “Frontline Sketches”  of the artist Svitlana Lutsiv (nee Lohush). The artist herself has been an Aidar battalion servicewoman for almost two years.

The exposition includes 40 pictures. What unites them is the theme of the Russian-Ukrainian war in eastern Ukraine. The pictures are painted on ammunition box boards. It is the best and the most accessible material the artist could get in the battle area.

Lutsiv portrays her comrades-in-arms, depicts the war routine, Donbas landscapes, and animals that become loyal assistants of soldiers in a difficult wartime. Her works are full of sincerity and truthfulness.

The artist would like to have her pictures kept at a Ukrainian museum in the future.
