“Hotel California” performed in Kyiv on kobzas and banduras

Recently, a video has gained much popularity in the social media, on which the National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments performs a popular song “Hotel California” on banduras and kobzas. The original video is posted by YouTube user Baba Kit.

 The song of the American band Eagles, which was written back in 1976, has never been performed yet in such a unique arrangement.

 “Those who argue that bandura, kobza, and the rest of traditional Ukrainian instruments are only good for performing folk songs, are deeply wrong,” comment the viewers.

 By the way, the YouTube channel of Baba Kit has another video. On it, the same folk orchestra breathes new life into “Rolling in the Deep,” a legendary song by Adele.
