The exposition “Innermost” is being held at the gallery of Roman Khrushch’s and Zoriana Savka’s alma mater. It is the first solo exhibit of paintings by the young masters –graduates of the Ivan Trush College, now students at the Lviv Academy of Arts.

The exhibit makes a spectacular display of the two authors’ painting experiments, their uncommon vision of a human being’s inner world. The author of the exposition’s concept is art critic Lilia Kukil, with Roman Dmytryk being the curator.

“Zoriana Savka and Roman Khrushch, our Academy’s senior students, can more and more often be seen at Lviv exhibits,” says Professor Roman YATSIV, Pro-Rector of the Lviv National Academy of Arts. “Both of them evince interest in everything that shows the spirit of modernity and intellectual acuteness. This time they have invited their colleagues to see their own project, ‘The Innermost.’ The authors possess a combination of the professional qualities and creative efforts, which characterizes them as quite penetrating painters with a pronounced moral and ethic credo. Yet it is too early to say that the concepts of Savka and Khrushch as authors are self-sufficient. Their works comprise a lot of spontaneity as well as some just-acquired expressive means that are still ill-adapted to their own existence. Expressiveness, an attribute that is typical of youth and is inherent in these authors, is aimed at a metaphysical substance which always has a unique nature in every individual. Zoriana’s and Roman’s esthetic reactions seem to be almost simultaneous, but they are expressed by different temperaments in the structure of figurativeness. It is very good that each of the artists is seeking their own ways to paint canvases. Zoriana and Roman are taking important steps in this strategy of professional development, more and more actively participating in many volunteer initiatives and positioning themselves as committed artists with an original poetic worldview.”

The exhibit will remain open until December 16.
