While on an assignment in eastern Ukraine, Den/The Day’s reporters presented a copy of The Crown, or Heritage of the Rus’ Kingdom, which is the latest book publication of our newspaper, to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Ukraine, Judith Gough. Right now the Ambassador is on a working visit to Kramatorsk, which is part of her ongoing trip to Donetsk oblast. “I know books from Den’s Library series and am very grateful for this new one! It is important that Den writes about history, and the theme of the monarchy is really important and in need of new reflection in Ukraine,” Gough emphasized. She remarked that she was going on a six-hour road trip, so she would definitely read The Crown. The Ambassador paid special attention to the book’s section “What Attracts Ukrainians in Britain,” which dealt with the need to maintain traditions, customs, and laws. “This is an urgent topic for reflection,” the diplomat said. Gough has long been a member of the symbolic readers’ club of Den’s books, since she keeps several of our publications, in particular English-language ones, in her library.
