The students’ previous plasticine work for the song “Lullaby” by Vivienne Mort had amassed more than 100,000 hits on YouTube from around the world.

This time the students built upon Jamala’s song “Why Flowers Have Eyes.” The students of the Adalbert Erdeli Uzhhorod College of Art made the 3.42-minutes-long plasticine animation for the “Best Student of Ukraine” contest, which was held past week in Uzhhorod. One of the animation’s authors, 17-year-old Vladyslava Mazur, presented the work and personally performed the song composed by the Eurovision winner. She won the national competition confidently; the jury and the audience were amazed. “We wanted to take something deep, something to reach the very souls of the audience. I and the animation team chose this track, because it is topical. The whole process, which included sculpting, writing the plot, filming, and editing, took 5-6 days in total, but the time was scarce. It was difficult emotionally more than it was so physically, because we had to hurry up right after the classes – we were filming and sculpting at the same time, and Solomia was editing,” said Mazur to The Day. The video is available on the following link: https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=Wjp9r_-K130

The artwork was created by these talented students: Vladyslava Mazur, Solomia Kovalchuk, Sophia Vats, and Tamara Dovhanych.
