At the Samovar

10 March, 2004 - 00:00

Last Tuesday a unique samovar was presented at the MaRGo 2004 trade show. Its height is 1.75 meters, weight 250 kilos, and volume 295 liters. An even bigger Samovar could be constructed in Tula, Russia, but this 445-liter giant remains only a model. The Ukrainian handmade samovar was named Soborny. It took three months and $10,000 to construct this record-holder. Its author, Director General of the MTTs Company of Zaporizhzhia Ihor Chepurny, hopes that the samovar will pay for itself in a few months, since he is planning regular mass tea parties. The samovar is able to deliver tea for 2000 persons in three to four hours, which means that the entrance fee will soon compensate all expenses.
