The art project “Sensation” will be held in Ukraine for the second time on May 5. This year, the Ukrainian organizers and their Dutch partners will present the show “Innerspace” that is based on visualization of human energy system. They see it as the best production in the entire twelve-year history of “Sensation.” By the way, the event’s features include not only ultra-modern special effects and large-scale scenery, but also an unusual dress code which requires every participant and spectator to be dressed only in white.
The very title of the show is a strong hint that “Innerspace” is devoted to contemporary spirituality, that is, to spiritual life of all of us, including our readers. All elements of the show (futuristic scenery, special effects, performance that involves great numbers of acrobats and artists) are subordinated to the task of understanding the inner space of human beings.
Ukrainian audience has already seen “The Ocean of White,” another event of the project. It drew in 12,000 viewers the opening night, and a quarter of them came from neighboring countries. By the way, the program was the most expensive one in the history of Ukrainian show business with the costs exceeding 10 million hryvnias.
It should be noted that Sensation is the worldwide exclusive partner of dance4life, an international organization that fights against HIV/AIDS. Therefore, 50 eurocents from each ticket sold are donated to this foundation, wherever the show is held.
“Without doubt, “Sensation” is a remarkable event for dance culture and the show industry in general alike,” famous musician and composer Yevhen Filatov says. “On the one hand, it is very recognizable because all participants are dressed in white, and scenery is of the same color. On the other, the show’s concept is new every year. Speaking of music, it plays a minor role only, despite the fact that headliners may include well-known and highly respected DJs and musicians. The uniqueness of this project lies predominantly in its atmosphere! Ukraine’s hosting of “Sensation” promotes convergence of our show business to the world standards. In addition, such high-level events encourage residents of other countries to come here.”
