The event is organized by the National Union of Ukrainian Artists’ Exhibition Directorate and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. It is the 7th art project that presents contemporary Ukrainian paintings done in the past three years.
The goal is to make an as clear as possible picture of what is going on in painting art without any artificial restrictions or curators’ personal likings. Among those who are displaying their works are Viktor Sydorenko, Mykhailo Huida, Anatolii Kryvolap, Oleksandr Dubovyk, Petro Lebedynets, Vladyslav Shereshevsky from Kyiv; Viktor Pohorelov, Yurii Vintaiev, Viktor Kovtun from Kharkiv; Anatolii Horbenko, Serhii Savchenko, Volodymyr Kabachenko from Odesa; and Petro Antyp from Donetsk. The exhibit will provide a unique opportunity to see the works of these and other well-known artists in the same exhibition area.
The exposition, which comprises about 200 artworks, is certain to make spectators believe that both well-known and young artists are taking a personalized approach to formulating their creative concepts. Some of them calmly convey their own impressions and philosophical reflections, while others express their views on canvas in a vigorous way. The triennale will exhibit the works of those who prefer traditional motifs and techniques as well as of those who favor innovative ideas in art.
The artworks are to be displayed at the National Union of Ukrainian Artists’ exhibition hall (House of the Artist) until July 3.
