Where there is no law, but every man does what is right in his own eyes, there is the least of real liberty

Force Leonid Kuchma to account for his misrule instead of showering him with birthday gifts!

11 August, 2014 - 18:10

Once again, Kuchma celebrated his birthday on August 9. However, the public ought to force him to account for his misrule instead of showering him with gifts. His transgressions include creating the criminal mafia clan system that served both Kuchma and Viktor Yanukovych, leasing eastern Ukraine to local criminals for many years, destroying the judiciary and the army, engaging in systemic corruption and total electoral fraud, fabulous enrichment at the expense of the Ukrainian people, involvement in the murder of  Heorhii Gongadze and the abduction and torture of Oleksii Podolsky, the attempt to kill MP Oleksandr Yeliashkevych, and systemic violence against politicians, journalists and activists.

Kuchma’s policies brought us Yanukovych and his family, Pavlo Lazarenko, Yurii Kravchenko and his thugs, Mykola Azarov, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Viktor Medvedchuk, Nestor Shufrych, Serhii Liovochkin, Dmytro Tabachnyk, Dmytro Firtash and Yurii Boiko, Serhii Kivalov and Rinat Akhmetov, Oleksandr Yefremov and a lot more people who were his disciples, heirs, and partners in the business of robbing and destroying Ukraine for the sake of personal enrichment.

Kuchma is today playing in peacemaking, and it is a shame for Ukraine and a huge mistake on Petro Poroshenko’s part. With this decision, both Vladimir Putin and terrorist groups have received additional leverage to destabilize our country. Kuchma is totally controlled by the Russian side and personally President Putin.

Kuchma revealed to the Russians his private and state secrets, and transferred his entire ruling team to them a decade ago, including the former interior minister Mykola Bilokon and the former first deputy chairman of the State Security Service Volodymyr Satsiuk as well as his chief caretaker Ihor Bakai and his chief administrator Medvedchuk, who had Putin as his daughter’s godfather. Now, when the Rostov refugee, chief disciple and successor of Kuchma, Yanukovych has to join his security forces in answering for their bloody crimes on Maidan and unleashing the brutal and insane slaughter in the east of Ukraine, Kuchma’s “peacekeeping role” actually plays to the terrorists’ advantage and greatly enhances their position. After all, Kuchma is accused of world-famous high-profile crimes as well.

Not long ago, some members of his family were denied entry into the US, but their ability to “buy the respect with money,” noticed by the NYT a few years ago, somewhat delayed Kuchma’s inevitable punishment and created the illusion of impunity in Donetsk disciples and crime associates of Kuchma...

His punishment is still sure to come, despite the historical “amnesia” of many prosecutors, judges, journalists, and Ukrainian and Western politicians, all paid for by Kuchma’s family.

He has a lot to answer for.

Kuchma will have to appear before the court and to repent.

And then, to suffer a fair punishment for his deeds.

He will be joined in that by those who celebrated his 75th birthday with him in Italy a year ago and felt like the true masters of life then.

Meanwhile, the Kuchma-Yanukovych system continues to exist even after hundreds of deaths on Maidan and in the east.

The system has not disappeared, but has been modified and armed with the Euromaidan rhetoric...

I like the idea of bringing handcuffs to the Kuchma Foundation’s office, located in Orlyka Street in the government quarter of the capital, next to the office of President Poroshenko and opposite the Supreme Court of Ukraine’s building.

The foundation’s home is yet another example of Kuchma’s theft of public property. It housed the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before. I will tell more about it and the Kuchma’s family estate (similar to Mezhyhiria, which Yanukovych got through Kuchma’s good services) later...

We must remember our history “exams” which we have failed as a society...

To eradicate Kuchma’s system and make changes irreversible...

Mister Kuchma, Ukraine is truly not Russia! Kuchma will get a fair trial!

P.S. I believe in God and the triumph of good over evil. I know also that the struggle for justice is what matters now  more than ever before for the country’s fate... We are at a turning point, but in order to finally make a quantum leap, we have to break the shackles of Putin’s people down here...
