It is no mere chance that this autumn’s first glossy is about books to read. Firstly, September is sort of a symbol of the beginning of all kinds of study. Self-education can also be referred here. Secondly, Lviv is now holding the 22nd annual high-profile Forum of Publishers, a “magnet” for all book lovers. Thirdly, it is always a pleasure in the autumn to sit somewhere – in a park, at home, or in a cafe – with a book in hand. Publishers also prepare dozens of novelties for the Forum, so the “to be read” list is noticeably increasing. It is also a good idea to add Den’s Library new products to this list.
The fresh issue of Route No. 1, My Book, contains a lot of interesting things for the book lovers who are ready to have a meaningful conversation and engage in a difficult process of reconsidering many things.
“There are very many – traditional paper, audio, and electronic – books today. There is so much for to read, but you should first of all read that which will explain to you where and in what frame of reference you are, and what condition your country is in. Many are saying: we could never have thought that this would happen to us! But why did not you read wise things? You should understand that this war is not for oil and gas but for a place in history. This is the logic of the process. It is a pity when such a dramatic shakeup is needed to grasp such an obvious truth. Our library is ‘a lifting jack for the ‘couch-potato hundred,’” Den’s editor-in-chief Larysa Ivshyna says in her traditional column.
In the new issue of Route No. 1 readers can learn more about our new products: the historical book Return to Tsarhorod and an unprecedented political-writing triptych by Den’s journalists.
You can also read some exclusive interviews on the glossy’s pages – with Oleksandra Koval, president of the International Forum of Publishers, about the new and most interesting projects in 2015, and with Hans Roeland, a Dutch Slavicist, translator, and the Forum of Publishers’ headliner.
Route No. 1 may take you to Ukraine’s marvelous and oldest library in Lviv and to the world’s best bookstores, tell you about the Top 10 places to be visited at Forum 2015, and advise you to see the ten most successful screen versions of books in the history of cinema.
The traditional cooking tips blog is about dishes by recipes from well-known book characters.
And you can find much more things in the fresh Route No.1, My Book.
Book lovers and book freaks, do not miss it! Ask for the glossy’s 35th issue as early as September 4 at newsstands or order it on Den’s website. You can also get the glossy at the Forum of Publishers (Den’s stand) in Lviv.
