Dorm for orphans

A dorm where orphans and children deprived of parental care will live is to appear in Rivne. The establishment will be opened before the end of the year. The region will receive 1.8 million hryvnias in order to complete it, to which regional deputies gave their consent. The provision of the necessary facilities for the Rivne social dorm began in 2007. However, it was never completed for lack of funds. Meanwhile, demand for such an establishment has grown, the experts note. “There is hardly any social housing in the region,” comments Tetiana Kudrina, deputy director of the Rivne regional center of Social Service for Family, Children and Youth. “The appearance of such a dorm will partially solve the housing problem for this social group. At least for some time. For around three years 15 to 23-year-old children deprived of parental care and orphans will be able to live there. It is designed for 30 people. The psychologists, social workers and lawyers, in case of necessity, will work with them.” According to Tetiana Kudrina, the bidding procedures are now taking place. The final term for the completion of the dorm will be announced after signing the agreement.
