The art of stained glass originated in Europe and appeared in Ukrainian tradition quite recently. For a long time only large cultural buildings like theaters, libraries, and museums were decorated with stained glass. Now even private homes are decorated with stained glass windows. Serhii Selezniov said that most sketches that people bring to him are designed for the use of modern technology, however, he only uses old technology with which he has worked for over 30 years already. In fact, it is more complex, but it offers more opportunities to create various shades, final project is of high quality and more saturated.

“I work with an ancient technique that was invented a thousand years ago: I use lead and soldering. A square meter of lead weighs almost ten kilograms, plus glass – the total weight is about 20 to 25 kilograms,” stressed Crimean muralist Serhii SELEZNIOV. The exhibition of stained glass and graphic art was presented at Simferopol House of Artists. As a stained-glass window maker Selezniov has worked all his life in the Crimean artistic manufacturing facility. His monumental art works of stained glass please the eye of visitors of various resorts, libraries, and cultural centers on land and also sail at seas and oceans on the atomic lighter carrier Sevmorput (called Sea Distance, Outer Space, New Cities, and others). Stained glass by Selezniov was exhibited in Dusseldorf, Heidelberg, and other German cities. Now, the art works of the artist are stored in museum collections in Russia, Finland, Kuwait, Israel, and, of course, the Simferopol Art Museum.
